Solastalgie. 2024 / en cours.

“j’utilise pour cette série des temps de pose très longs. Facilitant l’abstraction et l’épure, ce procédé me permet, je crois, de me rapprocher de l’essence des choses. Tout est là dans mon travail. Je ne retouche pas mes photographies pour rester en lien avec un monde qui tend à disparaître. Obtenir de belles choses en passant par des procédés lents et non virtuels,c’est un rapport au monde auquel je tiens et que je plébiscite. Imaginez simplement que vous appreniez après coup qu’un film ou un roman d’amour que vous avez adoré, qui vous accompagne depuis des années, a finalement été pondu par une intelligence artificielle.

I use very long exposure times for this series. Facilitating abstraction and purity, this process allows me, I believe, to get closer to the essence of things. Everything is there in my work. I don't retouch my photographs to stay in touch with a world that is tending to disappear. Get nice things by going through slow and non-virtual processes, it is a relationship with the world which I hold dear and which I applaud. Just imagine learning afterwards that a film or a romance novel that you loved, that you accompanies for years, was finally laid by an artificial intelligence.
